Every country needs a day to send their children out in costume to collect possibly contaminated treats, and in Iceland it's Ash Wednesday. That's the scene for Julianna Barwick's Reykjavík edition of a Take Away Show, and it's one of our favourite editions yet, mainly because her gorgeous singing tears down any concerns for safety the children might have of taking candy from strangers. Or maybe “trusting your neighbour” is just one other thing Iceland is better at than the rest of the world. Watch below; Barwick's wonderful Nepenthe is out now on Dead Oceans.
