Twenty years from now, when the seas have risen and the last bee has taken its final bug breath, our teens will wonder why the world they inherited is so, like, totally wack. In service of their short attention spans, “Bad Kingdom” would be a fine crash course. It not only compresses a lot of western civilization's moral indiscretions into four and half minutes, but does so with beautiful drawings (courtesy of director/producer/human sneeze Pfadfinderei) and an emotive house-pop track from Moderat. Like the best kind of edutainment, it's both informative and fun enough to give the viewer something to think about, other than the next horde of raiders. Moderat II is out now.
