Tampa's post-punk lords Merchandise have premiered a surreal short film “Rush of Blood,” conceived and directed by frontman Carson Cox with a score of experimental tones from Dave Vassalotti. There's a pervading air of menace throughout thanks to first person shots of guns and peeping tom voyeurism, but I couldn't tell you if there was a cogent narrative. Truthfully, I was distracted by my lunch while watching. Which come to think of it, makes me question if the film's theme of delicious pad thai is something I'm just projecting.
