Over Christmas I got to see Mac DeMarco open for Japandroids in Vancouver, and he brought that weird kung-fu theatre he was playing to its feet with his weirdo indie jangles. If you haven’t seen him, go. Till then, watch these performances of “Ode To Viceroy” and “Still Together” for Bonnaroo’s web-series Mom, Meet A Band. Smaller scale, but the charisma is still there. And check out his whinny over “Still Together”’s chorus. Can’t be beat.
