As if to confirm his return to the unpolished sound of pre-Mysterious Phonk releases, heralded by the excellent B.M.W. EP, SpaceGhostPurrp has dropped a video for the mixtape version of “Been Fweago.” Maybe it’s due the similar hairstyles, but to me the indistinct clip plays like a purple-washed, noisier version of O.D.B.’s “Brooklyn Zoo,” shot in the dead of night for a more menacing effect. Never thought I’d be so happy to hear those emoticon ad noises.
