I’m unsure about people old enough to do their own taxes having whimsical sleepovers. But maybe I’m just bitter, considering the guests at all my pajama parties were video game cartridges and bored second cousins. So I refuse to turn my nose up at Tegan And Sara‘s “Closer,” and its pillow forts, face-painting, and karaoke, which I’ve seen a lot of today and is starting to freak me out. But there is a lot of adorable kissing, and the song is a confetti blast bubblegum pop which somehow makes the nu-disco craze of 2007 seem due for a comeback.
