It is well known that James Franco's career post -Freaks and Geeks is an elaborate, million-dollar web of life-spanning performance art, engineered by Hollywood plutocrats. But like all Frankenstein monsters must do, Franco's career is refusing to be held by the limitations of its masters' conceptions, and is now demanding that we take its music career seriously. That's right, James Franco is now in a band called Daddy, and will be releasing an EP on September 25th, provided his masters do not initiate the “Scorched Earth” protocol before then. Below, check out the video for “Love in the Old Days.” The song (and the record it's taken from) is heavily inspired by Motown, with a cringe-inducing slather of bland bohemian lyrics, and an autotuned chorus that makes me think this entire thing is a joke.
