Exitmusic – “The Modern Age”

Did you know that Aleksa Palladino, aka Mrs. Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk Empire, has a gothy post-punk band with her husband called Exitmusic, and a new video for their song “The Modern Age?” But this isn’t your typical Bruce “Bruno” Willis vanity project; you get the sense that the duo are unleashing something rather than simply creating, especially Aleksa, whose wounded swell of a voice carries the song, a desperate stampede away from something to nowhere in particular.

Watch the atmospheric clip for “The Modern Age” below. It focuses on Aleksa and her interactions with flares and veils, which involve a lot of swooping, vaguely distressed hand movements.
