LOL Boys – “Changes” (Shlohmo remix)

Downbeat electro producer Shlohmo’s offering up a hangover anthem in the form of a remix of LOL Boys’ “Changes,” and the video could just be the wakeup call you need if you’re actually hungover right now. Call it maturity or the first phase in becoming a parent that talks to their kids in Internet slang, but there’s a point when “What did I do last night?” loses its charm and mutates into “What did I do last night, and the night before that, and also what am I doing in general. Oh shit I passed out on my work suit.” etc, etc. The video’s subjects aren’t quite there yet, but a rude awakening’s in the post, judging from the bleary, hungover wash and the noisy, stark shots of some very solemn looks. The messy shots of beautiful women shift in time with the clacking hi hat, slapping away with the rhythm of a marathon runner’s murmuring heart, while the pitch-shifted vocals linger in the dubby urban atmosphere like so-much cigarette smoke and poor decision-making.
