Hey, remember on Saturday night when the oceans boiled and volcanoes belched black smoke into the sky, enveloping the earth in a ceaseless night? It probably had something to do with either Mick Jagger performing on SNL with both Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters as his backing bands, or that lunar eclipse. Or both?
Intercepted between tour dates in their amphibious gypsy caravans which almost certainly exists, Arcade Fire performed the first Rolling Stones single “The Last Time,” their stadium-sized sound perfectly fitting the classic tune. Grungy pop roustabouts Foo Fighters performed as well, with someone who probably was Dave Grohl but I can’t be sure, dude’s hair has gotten very long. Jagger fans concerned about the performance need not worry: Throughout the show, Mick Jagger clapped, tapped one leg, and did weird hip things like a rockstar half his age that grew up idolizing Mick Jagger would do. Good jobs all round, everyone.
