Vår (formerly War) – “In Your Arms”

Icelandic supergroup War are back with a new video for “In Your Arms” and a new name, Vår, which could mean the same thing in Icelandic and everyone’s just too lazy to Google it.

“In Your Arms” moves from the indeterminate urban centre of “Brodermordet” to the countryside, filming the pastoral settings from the inside of an Audi. The focus of the video, however, is a male stripper named Louis Toro. Bandmember Elias Bender Rønnenfelt says that “In a sense Toro is VÅR more than we can ever be.” So judging from this video, Vår/Toro is/are about 1) Gothic synthpop with Robert Smith-reminiscent vocals that sounds like it’s being blasted from ancient air-raid speaker systems 2) Audis 3) Sick tats 4) Pelvic thrusts. All good things!

Vår’s debut will be out next goddamn year on Sacred Bones.
