Like most people in this day and age, you probably don’t watch the wacky hijinks of the Simpsons anymore, mostly due to the unerring fact that the show just isn’t very good. However, because of your reasonable dislike of the show, you also probably weren’t aware that indie superstars/hotties Animal Collective and Hot Chip had songs featured in last night’s episode. In a decision that is probably set to how we view the show, Hot Chip’s “Boy From School” provided the soundtrack to the show’s opening montage, while Animal Collective’s “Winter’s Love” closed out the show on a moment of appropriately snowy bliss.
Now you’re probably thinking, “Should I start watching the show again to stay on the pulse of pop-culture and all of my favorite indie bands?” Probably, yes. But in the interim of your transition into the coveted position of pop-culture wizard, how about you just watch the scenes below instead so that you can say, “That was relatively neat.”
