I'll always enjoy Dawson's do-it-yourself approach and lazy vocals, but Alphabutt doesn't cut it. This album was apparently inspired by the birth of her baby, named Panda. This appears to be a kids record with lots of songs about poop and farts and splashing around in water and bears and stuff. It's also probably the most mature thing Dawson's ever recorded.

Despite singing "Who's Got The Crack" with The Moldy Peaches, Kimya Dawson is also a proud mom of a two-year-old girl named Panda Delilah. So titling her first children's album Alphabutt seems pretty appropriate.
