Gob Take You Back In Time

Getting ready to check out Gob at Sound Academy's Rail Jam was like a jaunt down memory lane. Gob were a staple in the Canadian punk rock scene when I was growing up, and I've seen them numerous times. Their performances never disappointed and, with a (relatively) new album under their belt, I was curious to see what the past six years have done...

Gob — Muertos Vivos

in
I might be one of the only people who actually enjoyed Gob's last album, Foot In Mouth Disease. Compared with most of the other crap that was coming out of the pop-punk woodwork, that record was fast, catchy and not trying too hard to be something it wasn't. The same can be said of Muerto Vivos, Gob's first album in four years. The Vancouver...

Gob — The World According To Gob

in
Lovers of the pop-punk genre can now celebrate as Canada's very own Blink-182 have fired off their latest CD. And while I desperately want to like it, I have this violent disdain for palatable "punk." Personally, the most intelligent thing about this album is the John Irving-inspired album title. CHARTtrack: Gob's "Wake Up"

"Wake Up" can be found on Muerto Vivos, Gob's fifth studio album, which came out in 2007. The song is a bit poppier (in a different way) than some of their previous singles, considering it's got hand clapping and singer/guitarist Tom Thacker's voice is considerably lower than it is on most of Gob's other material.
