Hot Chip — One Life Stand
- One Life Stand
- Parlophone/EMI
- 4 / 5

England's Hot Chip are somehow able to make each of their records stand alone as entities while still delivering excellent singles and remaining true to the indie-dance vibe they sparked with their Coming On Strong debut.
This ability to be everything to everyone has kept their momentum going throughout their six-year recording career. On fourth album One Life Stand, Hot Chip embrace the dance floor like never before, dropping any sense of the winking irony that dripped from earlier recordings.
But don't think the band have ditched their roots altogether and embraced hedonistic house. At their core, these are still pop tunes that adhere to the verse-chorus-verse structure. Vocalists Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard's thin deliveries provide a wonderful organic foil to the band's more electronic excursions.
