Zeus — Say Us

World, meet the new Beatles. Musically speaking, Toronto four-piece band Zeus are easily comparable to the sound of everyone's favourite band on Earth (arguably, of course).
Zeus — backing band to Arts & Crafts' labelmate Jason Collett — have now branched away from Collett's folk rock tunes to create their own brand of upbeat, straight-up rock 'n' roll songs on Say Us, blending '70s Brit-rock with southern rock and blues.
The result is an impressive debut record filled with songs about love and heartbreak. Highlights such as "Marching Through Your Head," "River By The Garden" and "How Does It Feel?" demonstrate the band's strengths: classic melodies, fuzzed-out guitars, fun three-part harmonies and simple songwriting — all very Beatles-tinged, in the best way possible.
In an age where musical genres include incoherent noise, over-produced electro beats and complicated art-rock, Zeus are bringing us back to the basics of good ole fashion timeless rock 'n' roll. Thank the lord.
