Four Tet — There Is Love In You

Music Review
Four Tet's There Is Love In You

Changing tastes and technology often make sustained careers in the electronic music field difficult to come by. But somehow Four Tet has managed to stay one step ahead of the trends, zigging when we want him to zag and thus, staying in our hearts and ears for well over a decade.

Although always busy, There Is Love In You is the first LP Kieren Hebden has released since 2005's Everything Ecstatic back in 2005.

In recent years, he's been performing at London, England club nights, and the experience shows on the new disc. Long dancefloor jams are filtered through Hebden's particular brand of electronic alchemy, with cool house bangers like "Love Cry" and glitch-pop burners like "Sing" fitting in perfectly together.

The blend of genres is reminiscent of last year's excellent Juan MacLean record The Future Will Come, and There Is Love In You is just as good. Once again eschewing classification, Four Tet delivers another classic.
