Tired of relative obscurity behind his drum kit, Weezer’s Pat Wilson swaps positions and instruments as the frontman for The Special Goodness. Longtime buddy Atom Willard picks up the drumsticks on Land, Air, Sea, a collection of 12 power-pop songs that bear more than a passing resemblance to the mighty W. Wilson plays it safe by not venturing too far from established Weezer fare: distorted power chords, unrequited love and tortured relationships. As a result, there’s nothing special about The Special Goodness.
