I don't think that it is necessarily "better to burn out than to fade away." Anthrax are one of the most aggressive, thrashy and innovative bands of their time. This two-disc set features highlights of the band's legendary career and showcases everything from the band's characteristically catchy choruses, riffed-out verses and (don't laugh) killer rap-metal — Aerosmith with Run-D.M.C. has nothing on Anthrax with Public Enemy. In addition to that excellent collaborative effort on "Bring Tha Noize," "Caught In A Mosh," "Indians" and "Antisocial" are definite standouts amongst 30 great songs.
Learning from Anthrax's style of guitar-led song structure would be valuable to almost any contemporary aggressive rock band.
