Diana Degarmo — Blue Skies
- Blue Skies
- RCA/Sony BMG
- 2 / 5

There are two things that the North American public can count on. The first is American Idol will continue churning out the records and the second is that all of them will be watered down, factory line pop. Sure, Kelly Clarkson's getting rockier and Ruben Studdard's turning gospel, but it's all rooted in the same bland production and songwriting.
Diana Degarmo's debut disc, Blue Skies, is no different. The AI 3 runner-up's record is a rockier affair and sounds strikingly similar to Lindsay Lohan's new album (likely because they share songwriters). The typical idol themes of chasing your dreams and overcoming odds are all present, especially on "Dreams" ("I guess we're made of dreams/Nothing else matters as long as we believe").
Blue Skies is nothing new and never interesting, but it will defy all logic and sell well as all of the AI discs do. Fortunately, Degarmo is still young enough to take control of her career one day.
