The big question of 2005 was how would Metric follow up their stellar 2003 new wave rocker Old World Underground? The answer — create another kick ass record. Everything you loved about OWU is here — the fluid keys, the catchy riffs and of course, Emily Haines' so so sexy vocals, but it soon becomes clear that Metric have matured. The band's arrangements, like the harmonies on the mid-tempo "Too Little Too Late" are busier than usual and instead of relying on disco drums to keep things shaking, there's plenty of aggressive choruses ("Empty" and "Poster Of A Girl") to rile people up. Live It Out will easily satisfy Metric's fans, while harvesting in a new crop of followers.
