Bloc Party — Silent Alarm Remixed

Just a few months ago Bloc Party's Silent Alarm rejuvenated the saturated new wave market with Cure-inspired bass lines, passionate vocals and catchy danceable tracks. It's such a great disc that people are still listening to it months later, so releasing a ripped up and reinterpreted version of the record now seems like a risky proposition. However, it makes perfect sense — the DJs who remixed Silent Alarm did such a good job that it you'll appreciate the original even more.
The heart of Bloc Party's tunes (and most of the vocal lines) are kept intact, but a ton of noises, blips, keys and key changes breath new life into these already great songs. One of the more innovative and drastic remixes belongs to M83, who turned "The Pioneers," an upbeat ass shaker, into a haunting, drone masterpiece. It's not all Pro Tools remixes though — Death From Above 1979 do a great cover of "Luno," complete with their grungy distorted bass and pounding drums.
