Funeral For A Friend's Your History Is Mine: 2002-2008

Although here in North America Funeral For A Friend maintain their presence more through package tours like Taste Of Chaos, this greatest hits and rarities package is a warranted endeavour. Back in their native U.K., these Welsh rockers have made many a dent on the charts.

Your History Is Mine's first disc collects the singles from their debut EP and four albums, tacking four new tracks onto the end. That it's sequenced chronologically is a mixed blessing; while it shows the band's growth it also reveals just how far towards the mainstream they've come since their aptly titled Seven Ways To Scream Your Name EP.

The second disc collects the usual B-sides, radio sessions and acoustic and remix detritus found on collections like this. Although none of it's particularly mind-blowing, it does stand up well next to the band's other work. Funeral For A Friend's cover of "The System" by obscure '90s band Far is a nice touch given how much that band influence FFAF's sound.

Still, with no new essentials, this set probably best serves noobs and the devoted more than the casual fan.
