Amusement Parks On Fire is the brainchild of Michael Feerick, who wrote and recorded this album and played all the instruments himself, all before turning 20. Hailing from Nottingham, in a land where musical sensations are trumpeted then dumped in a week's span, this rambunctious effort strikes all the right poses in a bid to appear really serious. Never before has this much random feedback worked so hard to sound like a song. That's not to say that Feerick doesn't write a solid one — check out "Venus In Cancer" — it's just that he prefers spending the better part of his record proving how much he likes My Bloody Valentine.
