Anti-Pop Consortium confounded most critics and fans alike the first time around, and have become legends in underground hip-hop since splitting up six years ago. It seems all we needed was a little bit of time to catch up with their inventive production and off-kilter rhymes. But that's what hiatuses are for, isn't it?
From the opening guitar and drum jam, it's clear that time and solo careers have done nothing to dull the quartet's creative juices. Over 17 tracks — many of them self-produced — the group reclaims their place while simultaneously forging ahead into unknown territory.
What the future of the reunion holds is anybody's guess. It's best to just be thankful for what we can get out of these guys while they're around.
