Sarah McLachlan's songwriting process is a lengthy one, so perhaps it's only natural she would turn to remixing between albums. Picking up where her popular 2001 compilation Remix left off is Bloom, which spans her career from oldie "Vox" to her latest single "World On Fire," though focusing heavily on material from her last LP. Guests at the mixing board include Will.I.Am, Junior Boys and Thievery Corporation, who pick apart, stretch out, sample and loop McLachlan's tunes, but unlike some sparse club remixes, you still get a sense of the complete song, with the singer's sad, soothing vocals used in entirety on each track.
