Juliet's cliche-o-matic lyrics could've been forgiven, if only she had some memorable hooks to drown out the plastic femme-fatale shtick. Alas, one must suffer through faux-S&M lines like "ride the pain into the pleasure" with a dull monotone of pounding synth bass and random blips and bleeps. Only "Never Land" features any sort of strong melodic support in its chorus. Otherwise, Juliet's husky voice (which bears a strong resemblance to Lisa Marie Presley's) is left out in the open, with nothing but Grade 9 poetry and some drab backbeats to work with.
