Evidently Rhys Fulber doesn’t feel Delerium provides adequate opportunity to marry gorgeous female vocals with atmospheric beatscapes. Hence the creation of Conjure One, his intermittent solo project. If you're already a Delerium fan, you should have no problem liking CO's sophomore release, since much of it sounds pretty similar. There are big sound spaces, shimmering estrogen-rich vocals and danceable (but not too frenetic) rhythms, all perfectly constructed to provide a cool and groovy backdrop to some pleasantly hip gathering. It's lovely stuff, if a bit familiar-sounding. The only surprise is a cover of The Buzzcocks' "I Believe" with Fulber himself on lead vocals.
