Emo meets hardcore. While that sounds obviously like screamo, when you hear Discovering The Waterfront you won't want to peg Silverstein into that slot. Thanks to intelligent tracks such as "My Dagger Versus Your Sword" with its dynamic fluctuations that range from introspectively quiet to fiercely aggressive and the borderline-overwrought emotive fury of "Ides Of March," Discovering The Waterfront is an energetic, upbeat effort. These guys know how to write a catchy tune, but, occasionally, Silverstein's lyrics tend to blab on about the typical whiny shit too much. Regardless, they've put more soul into this record than anything they've done before.
