It’s been a few years since Mould’s last album of new material and even longer since he used the full electric guitar assault that characterized his early '90s material with Sugar. Some fans will welcome Body Of Song as a return to form, while others will bemoan it as a conservative step backwards. Either way, Body Of Soul shows that Mould's still capable of creating tuneful and uncompromising songs. From the rageful howls of "Underneath Days" to the gentle poignancy of "Days Of Rain," there should be plenty for both old and new fans to enjoy.
