I want to tell you how good Wolf Parade's new record is, but I can't because it doesn't come out until September. In the meantime, here is just a small taste of things to come. The EP's "You Are A Runner And I Am My Father's Son" and "Shine A Light" aren't even close to the band's best and yet they're still compelling. "Disco Sheets" and "Lousy Pictures" are solid b-sides that wouldn't be out of place on the upcoming Apologies To The Queen Mary. I don't want to get too much into the superb spaz rock sound and Dan Boeckner and Spencer Krug's chilling vocal interplay just yet, because you're going to hear plenty about all of that in a couple of months when the band explode. For now, get ready: the year of Wolf Parade is officially upon us.
