From that perspective, this best of is surprisingly competent, moving in chronological order from the songwriting icon's acoustic folk years all the way to his Oscar Winning "Things Have Changed." Hardcore fans are better off going with the
No Direction Home companion set, but if you're just trying to figure out which version of Dylan you might like best, you can't go wrong here.
