Constantine Maroulis isn't just an American Idol reject. In fact, he and his merry quartet of hard rock posers that make up Pray For The Soul Of Betty sully the good name of "reject." This self-titled debut album is, not surprisingly, boring and uninspired. Maroulis struggles through flat vocals, specifically on the aptly titled, "Cry" and their instrumentation is derivative and textureless throughout. Although you gotta give Maroulis props for wisely cashing in on his 15 minutes while he can, there's nothing that suggests this band will ever have musical longevity or even artistic relevance. Makes you wonder if their tune "Suicide" is a warning or a suggestion.
