Canadian bands intermixing members to help out solo ventures is all the rage these days. Stripper's Union — the latest of these musical mixes — features The Tragically Hip's Rob Baker and his buddy Craig Northey (formerly of The Odds). The result is a 13-song rawk assault that sounds like a cross between Iggy Pop & The Stooges and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Highlights include the fuzzy funk of "Sweet And Low (2nd To Last Temptation)" and the dreary, voyage song and disc closer "Wave After Wave." Although the songs eventually get repetitive, there is enough variety in between to keep you listening.
