- 3 / 5

The murders of Tupac and Bad Boy rival Notorious B.I.G., combined with label prez Suge Knight's constant legal troubles, make it easy to forget that Death Row took gangsta rap into its post-NWA era. The Nas-baiting "Against All Odds" is a potent reminder of how Pac could bring equal doses of menace and skill to the mic and "What's My Name" proves that Snoop Dogg — before he became a self-parodying guest star whore — was once an exciting talent. True fans already have the originals, of course, but if Knight's lucky this compilation will sell enough to pay for his next court case.
