On Community Service Vol. 2 Crystal Method not only show off new tunes, but they remix older songs written by more conventional artists. Despite covering The Doors and Smashing Pumpkins, this disc doesn’t stray far from the duo’s familiar big beat sound. It’s hardly ground breaking, but like most Crystal Method works the mix is immaculately crafted and consistently catchy. A highlight is the Crystal-ized remix of "Roadhouse Blues," which works far better than their sped-up take on New Order’s "Bizarre Love Triangle." The group enlist some additional producers like The New Originals, whose remix of "1979" serves as a memorable finale.
