Music Review
- Give Me Fire!
- Musica De La Santa/Universal
- 4 / 5

Mando Diao may be from Sweden, but Give Me Fire!, their fifth studio album, has elements of Brit-dance-rock, riff-rock and a little bit of Latin flare.
"Dance With Somebody," the album's first single, has the balls and shredding capabilities of artists like Jet and The Hives. Vocalist Bjorn Dixgard yells and moans through tracks like "High Heels" and "Blue Lining White Trenchcoat," providing an intensity and obvious sexuality in a zesty record that refuses to be hushed.
Production-wise, this record sounds bigger and bolder than their previous releases, which may be partly due to their recent switch to Universal Music from EMI and thanks to producer Salla Salazar (The Latin Kings) and Masse, his brother.
Lyrically, these are simple but original stories of everyday warriors making it out alive. If you didn't know Mando Diao when their track "God Knows" was featured in the game FIFA 06, you will now. An album this bold will not stay quiet.
