Countless DVDs and videos — official and unofficial — have been issued about the Fab Four, and The Beatles: Rare And Unseen suffers from the same problems as other videos in the latter category.
It features some of the first live footage of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, along with video of the band shooting Help! and Magical Mystery Tour and brief clips of Lennon being interviewed for French TV.
But since none of The Beatles' music can be used without the permission of Apple Corps, this means The Beatles: Rare And Unseen comes across as little more than talking heads like Phil Collins blabbing their mouths off while the lads from Liverpool float by as images behind them.
While this is certainly something Beatles obsessives may dig, if you stick with The Beatles Anthology you'll still end up a Beatles expert.
