SIANspheric — The Sound Of The Colour Of The Sun

Music Review
SIANspheric - The Sound Of The Colour Of The Sun

When SIANspheric released their first album six years ago, droning rock 'n' roll existed on the fringes of the music community. Sure there were the Spaceman3s of the past (and their subsequent offspring), but this Burlington-based group really brought this musical style to a whole new young audience.

Now three albums (and dozens of new space-rock bands) later, the band continues to crank out long, flowing songs that implicitly suggest "Things Go Better With A Bit A Grass, Dude." SIANspheric (just like Mogwai, Beta Band and many others) are all about settling into a deep plush couch, flipping on the stereo and being completely blissed out by the buzz. This is especially true on the two unusually noisier (for SIANspheric) opening tracks "Audiphone" and "To Myself." What's really great about this album is that the band keeps the vocals to a minimum. Lyrics and their meanings can be so overrated.
