After all the comparisons to Nickelback, you’d think Theory Of A Deadman would try to carve out their own Can-Rock niche. However, instead of attempting originality, they stick squarely to the formula perfected by their predecessor. If anything, TOAD are apt pupils — "Say Goodbye" and "Better Off" are textbook Nickelback. Hell, half the time it even sounds like Chad Kroeger’s singing. The best pick out of the mix would be "Santa Monica" with its mopey guitar intro and lamenting lyrics, but the songs generally fall into two catagories — "I miss you and can’t live without you" or "Damn that bitch for leaving me." Light all the matches you want — this gasoline's nowhere near dangerous.
