This Arizona duo’s new EP, Convict Pool, kicks off with a cover of Love’s "Alone Again Or" that’s so good, it might make you stop whatever you’re doing to shout out, "Holy cow! This is the best thing I’ve ever heard!" At that point, the people surrounding you might think you’re being sarcastic. But you won’t be. It really is that good. It sounds quite a bit like Los Bravos, the Mexican group whose "Black Is Black" still gets played on oldies radio. There are also covers of The Minutemen’s "Corona" and the Dominique A-penned "Si Tu Disais," along with three originals that totally hold their own.
