With the overwhelming success of Elephunk, The Black Eyed Peas found a winning formula that they continue on their fourth disc, Monkey Business. "Pump It" is an ideal opening track, heavily sampling Dick Dale's surf classic "Misirlou" and laying down an addictive beat that you'd have to be deaf not to appreciate.
With the Peas riding high, they were able to get several guest performers including previous contributor Justin Timberlake and new addition James Brown. Sting provides vocals on a reinterpretation of his tune, "Englishman In New York" for "Union," one of the few tunes where the Peas return to their more socially conscious roots.
Unfortunately the album starts to lose some steam partway through and could be trimmed down from its 15 tracks. But when the Peas are good — they're damn good.
