Justin Rutledge And The Junction Forty — No Never Alone

Justin Rutledge And The Junction Forty - No Never Alone
Garnering comparisons to singer-songwriters like Ryan Adams and Gram Parsons, Canadian singer Justin Rutledge and his band, The Junction Forty, have crafted a hauntingly beautiful debut album of gently executed country ballads. Featuring the exquisite pedal steel work of Brothers Cosmoline's Burke Carroll, mandolin by Dan Whiteley (ex-Heartbreak Hill) and some impressive guest turns from the likes of Mary-Margaret O’Hara ("A Letter To Heather"), No Never Alone is a heartbreaker of a record. Rutledge’s gentle vocals and picturesque lyrics are akin to floating down a lazy river. But it’s not all soothing numbers — "The Suffering Of Pepe O’Malley" shows that Rutledge can crank up the pace when necessary.
