Ireland’s The Frames have flown under the radar since their early '90s debut, but the move to respected indie label Anti- and their slight similarities to Coldplay and Radiohead may bring the band some new interest. Bandleader Glen Hansard remains the group's creative force, while the other Frames manage to pull up a kitchen sink's worth of sonic goodies, augmenting his melancholy tunes. With only a few memorable hooks, Burn The Maps is more a collection of random songs than a coherent listen, but consistency has never been The Frames' forte — which probably explains why they've toiled in relative obscurity.
