Forceful and angry without being bitter or overly aggressive, Lead Us To Reason is a fine display of The Black Maria’s talent. While many bands of their ilk are busy struggling to infuse the overdone elements of emo into their otherwise flat rock sound, this band’s At The Drive-In sonic attack is as refreshing as it is unforgettably catchy. This may only be a debut album, but it shines brighter than bands who have been plugging away for years. Makes you want to hate The Black Maria almost as much as you admire ‘em.
