Four of the five members of Black Mountain spend their days working at a mental care facility in Vancouver. Their moonlight gig as blues-cum-stoner rockers seems to have produced a similar calling — they’re out to heal people. Some cure with pills, others with infectious grooves. Equal parts Can, Rolling Stones and the avant-garde side of Queens Of The Stone Age, BM switch with guile from melodic jangle-pop on "No Satisfaction," to rugged guitar riffs on the single "Druganaut" and the freak-out sax explosion of "Modern Music." Rest assured, after a trip up this mountain, you may not want to come back down.
