This swingin' Vancouver homeboy still has the suave croon and puppy-dog eyes; he just doesn't have the tunes that made his debut a charmer. Aside from a tame version of "I've Got You Under My Skin," Buble’s selections from the jazz and pop songbook aren't as high profile this time around, even though he still chooses a diverse selection of songs. Kudos for being brave enough to turn Lennon-McCartney's "Can't Buy Me Love" into hot bebop and "Quando Quando Quando" is decent bossanova mall music, even if duet partner Nelly Furtado fails to muster up the world '"flava" she was obviously chosen to represent. This kind of release thrives on schmaltzy, by-the-numbers arrangements — not necessarily a bad thing if you have the right songs — It's Time just runs out of them.
