Goldfinger hit a new stride with Disconnection Notice, an effort that takes a decidedly poppier turn (I know, it sounds like a stretch even for them). Where much of their past material was beginning to feel tired and weighed down by its own punk rock ennui, this release is decidedly fresh. Bouncy and upbeat with a rock vibe that blends their traditional pace and delivery (as ripped off by the likes of Sum and Blink) with subtler laid back grooves, this is the closest Goldfinger have come to radio sensibility without damaging their punk rock ethics.
