This unauthorized biography of Modest Mouse centres more on frontman Isaac Brock than on the rest of the band. Piecing together tons of articles about the indie-to-international group, Goldsher does a great job at maintaining a seamless narrative, with the exception of interlude chapters about the writing process where he often comes across as resentful of Brock's intentional distance. Even without (and possibly because of the lack of) the band's co-operation, this is still a decent read.
