Although Neko Case only lived in Canada for a few years, she made a significant mark on the Canadian music scene. Now, The New Pornographer and alt.country crooner has once again teamed up with The Sadies and a host of other musicians to release 11 live tracks. The Tigers Have Spoken gives fans an intimate look at Case’s influences through seven diverse covers. Her renditions of Buffy Saint Marie’s "Soulful Shade Of Blue" and The Shangri-Las’ "Train From Kansas City" show off her powerful pipes, while "This Little Light" will surely work the banjo-loving, alt.country crowd into a frenzy. While many live discs regurgitate the same old tunes, Case opts to present two brand new ones. Co-written by The Sadies, "If You Only Knew" and "The Tigers Have Spoken" will easily satisfy the craving for new Neko songs. With just the right amount of reverb, this disc sounds great and shouldn’t be dismissed as an insignificant live recording.
